Nurses Services

Our experienced practice nurses offer a wide range of services.

You may see a nurse before or after you see your doctor to do any necessary tests or measurements such as taking your blood pressure, measuring your weight, or showing you how to use an inhaler.

If you’re very unwell, a nurse may see you first and then you will see your doctor. This helps us get to the bottom of your problem as quickly as possible.

Nurse appointments

You can also choose to see only the nurse for:

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Cervical smears
  • Liquid nitrogen for some skin lesions
  • Wound dressings
  • Contraception checks
  • Blood tests
  • Dietary advice
  • Sexual health checks (free if aged under 21 years)
  • Some vaccinations
  • Some injections, for example B12, Depo

If you’re not sure whether you need to see a doctor or a nurse, phone our receptionist, who will help you.

You can book a nurse’s appointment by phone or online. For childhood vaccinations, it’s best to phone to make an appointment.

When making a booking, please give as many details as possible about why you want to see a nurse. If booking online, add this information under “reason for visit”. This helps us to make sure your appointment is long enough so that we can give you the time that you need.

We use the booking website Connectmed. The first time you use this appointment tool, you’ll need to register. This is quick and easy to do.

Simply, click the “Book an appointment” button above, then select “Join” from the menu, fill out the form with your personal details, and choose a password.

Once you have registered, you can log in at any time to make an appointment or request a repeat prescription.

If you have any problems, phone our receptionists on 348 5749 and they’ll be happy to help you.
